Born in Piraeus in June 11th 1958, Pandelis Thalassinos is a genuine islander. His father, Michalis, was born in the island of Chios and his mother, Euaggelia, was descended from Serifos.
In the age of 2, Pantelis moves with his family to Chios, where he attends to school. It was there that, for the first time at the age of 7, he starts playing guitar.
1967 finds Pantelis back to Piraeus, where he participates in many small bands, playing mainly rock music.
In 1976, he embarks for one year on the ship “Kapetan Stamatis”. Upon his return, he starts performing semi-professionally in small music scenes around Athens. At the same time he works for a shipping agency, where he remained for 12 years.
During his career, Pandelis Thalassinos has co-operated with: Yiannis Markopoulos, Chronis Aidonidis, Yiannis Spanos, Nikos Xydakis, Haris Alexiou, Maria Farantouri, Harry Klynn, Dimitra Galani, Glykeria, Manolis Lidakis, Katerina Kouka, Yiorgos Stavrianos, Marios Tokas, Yiorgos Hatzinassios, Christos Tsiamoulis, Gerasimos Andreatos, Anastasia Moutsatsou, Vassilis Lekkas, Yiannis Spathas, Vassilis Kazoulis, Katerina Papadopoulou, Miltos Paschalidis, Petros Dourdoumpakis, Kostas Mantzios, Kostas Pavlidis, Sofia Papazoglou, Georgia Grigoriadou, Panos Rentifis and many others. He has also participated as a singer in many concerts of the Estudiantina orchestra of Nea Ionia Volou.
He has also performed at Herodium theatre, under the direction of Yiannis Markopoulos,and Notis Mavroudis, at the ancient theatre Fillipon, together with Haris Alexiou and Dimitra Galani, at Dion, at Lycabettus theatre, at Petras theatre, at Vrahon theatre, at the SEF and many more stages and stadiums. Outside Greece he has performed in Cyprus, Genoa, Zurich and London.
He is the creator of many music pieces for theatrical plays, films, TV commercials and TV shows. He is also the composer of numerous songs performed by other singers.
