Title: Wool-Cotton-Silk - DVD Production of the Ethnological Museum of Thrace
In Asvestades and in other villages of the Evros prefecture, you can still find women carding the wool in the backyard. You can still listen to the rhythmic sound of the loom alongside the ladies singing of Thracian songs.Further down is Soufli with the inimitable cocoon houses that dress memory in silk. Fresh is the cotton that comes from Mr. Charalambos carder; he's the last quilter in Alexandroupoli. They still dye and shine their cotton clothes in the villages around Trigono. Out there, near the borders of the Evros prefecture, they know how to make you feel warm, how to sing to you rhythmically and dress you in silk.
