Title: Copper-Coppersmiths - DVD Production of the Ethnological Museum of Thrace
Broad use of copperware for domestic purposes helped the coppersmiths craft flourish, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries. Production in cities was superior to that in towns or villages both in terms of quantity and quality thus coppersmiths (also known as redsmiths) earned quite a lot. In Thrace, most coppersmiths workshops were in Xanthi and Komotini. Copperware is not used anymore. Aluminum and plastic and the production of cheap kitchenware wiped away the traditional coppersmiths craft.
